Robert Alexander Wekke Sr., 89, passed away on May 17, 2017. Bob was born on June 9, 1927 in Camden, NJ to Augustive and Edna (Harper) Wekke. Bob married the love of his life, Melvenia (Harper) Wekke on November 17, 1957 and together they had 5 children. He loved being outdoors whether it was fishing, hunting, gardening, or woodworking. Bob enjoyed cooking and was well known for his cheesecake, BBQ and canning. He loved his family and was very a generous person. They never left his home hungry. Bob served 4 years in the United...

Robert Alexander Wekke Sr., 89, passed away on May 17, 2017. Bob was born on June 9, 1927 in Camden, NJ to Augustive and Edna (Harper) Wekke. Bob married the love of his life, Melvenia (Harper) Wekke on November 17, 1957 and together they had 5 children. He loved being outdoors whether it was fishing, hunting, gardening, or woodworking. Bob enjoyed cooking and was well known for his cheesecake, BBQ and canning. He loved his family and was very a generous person. They never left his home hungry. Bob served 4 years in the United States Marine Corps. After being discharged from the Marines, he joined the United States Air Force and retired after 20+ years. He served in 3 wars, WWII, The Korean War, and Vietnam War. The military took him all over the world from Korea, Japan, Alaska, Spain and Turkey. Upon retiring, Bob preferred to not travel as much and preferred spending some of his down time playing Bingo and slot machines. Bob is preceded in death by his parents; wife, Melvenia Wekke; and daughter E. Renee Hart. Survivors include his children. Melba Browning and husband Jim, Gerry Horn and wife Sandra, Nancy Davis and husband Larry, and Robert A. Wekke Jr. and wife Gina; 23 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; and nieces, Joanne Pilarcek and Cindy Martin. A viewing will be held Friday, May 19, 2017 from 3:00 p.m.-8:00 p.m. at Bill Eisenhour Northeast Funeral home. A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, May 20, 2017 at the Arlington Memory Gardens Mausoleum.
