Robert Ray "Doody" Cragle of Jones, OK and formerly of Lexington, OK, peacefully passed away on June 8, 2017 at his home in Jones. He was born on Christmas Day 1937 in the 4-Corners Community east of Noble, OK to Joseph "Lee" Cragle and Lettie Valera (Trett) Cragle. He grew to adulthood primarily in Noble and Lexington and in 1957 he enlisted in the US Army and was stationed at Ft. Ord, CA and Ft. Lee, VA. Robert Ray "Doody" Cragle of Jones, OK and formerly of Lexington, OK, peacefully passed away on June 8, 2017 at his home in Jones. He was born on Christmas Day 1937 in the 4-Corners Community east of Noble, OK to Joseph "Lee" Cragle and Lettie Valera (Trett) Cragle. He grew to adulthood primarily in Noble and Lexington and in 1957 he enlisted in the US Army and was stationed at Ft. Ord, CA and Ft. Lee, VA. Soon after he was honorably discharged from the Army he married Gayle Frances Garrett. From this union two children were born: Robin Michelle and Robert Bryan. After this marriage ended in divorce he married Joanne Cecilia (Gullion) Wallace in Purcell. Joanne had 3 daughters of her own: Rose Marie, Ella Denise and Mary Kathryn so they set about raising a blended family. Doody was an electrician by trade and worked a number of jobs, most notably for Cain's Coffee of Oklahoma City. He enjoyed anything of historical significance, visiting countless historical museums. He also enjoyed fishing and hunting, tinkering in his shop and spending time with his family. He was preceded in death by his parents and his son, Bryan. He is survived by his wife Joanne, his four daughters, 12 grandchildren, and many great-grandchildren. Memorial services will be held at 3:00 p.m. Saturday, June 17, 2017 at the First Baptist Church, 320 SW 3rd St., Jones, OK 73049 with Reverend Jimmy Reed officiating. Military Honors will be rendered by the U. S. Army Honors Detail following the services. Inurnment will be at Jones I.O.O.F. Cemetery at a later time.
